Breakfast
is considered to be the most important meal of the day. It sets your body up
for the long day ahead, giving you an energy kick in the morning. Whether you
opt for eggs and toast, or choose a basic cereal, it is vital to start your day
off strongly to ensure your mind is refreshed.
Step 2: Go for
a Walk

Staying
at your desk for 9 hours a day is detrimental for your health, especially if
you are sitting and staring at your computer screen. During your lunch hour,
allocate at least 15 minutes to a brisk walk around the block. If this is not
possible, try to go for a run at least 3 times a week after or before work.
Step 3: Drink
Water

Most
office workers are so preoccupied with work that they overlook drinking water.
This is a common mistake! It is vital that you remember to hydrate your body as
you are continuously working. Keep a water bottle on your desk and keep sipping
from it occasionally, drinking at least 5 glasses at work over a period of 9
hours.
Step 4: Have Healthy Snacks

Snacking
at work is a given, we are depleting our body of resources constantly;
therefore we must refuel and refresh our system as well. Fruits such as apples
and bananas are the most common desk snacks, while many workers opt for nuts
that are rich with energy.
Step 5: Move Around

Whether
you go to the toilet or just pop out for a few minutes, it is advised to take a
mini break of 2-3 minutes every hour to walk around. Sitting all day can lead
to varicose veins in your legs as well as Carpel Tunnel syndrome.
