The Top Water Purifier Decoded

The amount of pollutants being dumped in water bodies is alarming considering the health hazards. A water purifier in the easiest and the most effective way to obtain clean drinking water. Finding the top water purifier for your home or office can be a tough task, the pointers below will help you in the cause.
  1. The top water purifier must be Suitable for Purification of Brackish / Tap Water / Municipal Water Supply.
  2. It must have purification capacity the meets the demand of your house or office.
  3. The Plastic used in the top water purifiers should be of ASB food grade plastic. Use of harmful plastic will contaminate you purified water.
  4. It must meet your criteria with respect to installation. (Wall mounted, counter top or under the counter.)
  5. It should have storage capacity that meets your needs. This will avoid shortage of clean water at any given time.
  6.  It should have low power consumption. Electricity is as precious as water and should least used.
  7. It should use a combination of water purification methods(RO + UF, RO + UV + gravity based UF + TDS control e.t.c)
  8. The top water purifier should use TDS control system to keep TDS in check. TDS are harmful and also spoil the taste of water.
  9. It should have built in SMPS that supports wide range of input voltage (100-300V AC) for handling voltage fluctuation. This avoids the devices from being damaged.
  10. They should have fittings and components which are push (snap) fit to prevent leakages and wastage of water. Additional protection against leakages by built-in by using rubber O-Rings inside the push-fit fittings should be available.
  11. They should have low maintenance cost.
  12. They should be priced reasonable.
  13. They should remove dissolved impurities like chemicals, pesticides, rust, etc in water while retaining essential natural minerals that are required in drinking water
  14. They should be certified for its performance and quality by renowned laboratories of the world such as WQA in USA. CE certification is also important.

A Guide on which Water Purifier to Buy

While drinking water from purifier, a common memory that runs flashes in my mind are those glorious days when we used to drink water directly from the tap. Today the quality of water has dropped to such an extent that the same action is unthinkable to say the least.
What has led to such a drastic change? Water pollution some would say and we couldn’t agree more. We would however like to elaborate further on the same.

1   1)    Tremendous increase in the usage of pesticide, insecticide and fertilizers has led to harmful chemicals seep from the soil to mix with the water bodies.

2   2)    Rusted pipe lines that distribute water are often rusted and ill maintained. This leads water to be contaminated before it reaches your homes.

3   3)    Hazardous waste dumped in water bodies as a result of heavy industrialization has destroyed many water bodies.

Many impurities remain suspended in water such as dust, sand, dead insects and harmful micro-organisms like bacteria, viruses and cyst. They lead to discoloration of water and may also cause diseases. Impurities include chemicals, rust, pesticides, insecticides and salts of metals like arsenic, fluoride, iron, calcium etc. gets dissolved in water easily and can be health hazards.

The Impurities are hard to remove from simple methods such as boiling and adding chlorine to water. Water purifiers can be a great help in this ever growing problem. These devices not only cleanse water of any impurities, they also remove foul smell from water if any.
Installing a water purifier in your home will help your loved ones stay away from diseases caused by water. The question that is raised is whichwater purifier to buy? Outline your needs before you go out to purchase a water purifier. Below are some pointers you should consider before purchasing one.

1   1)    Water purification capacity.
2   2)    Technology used i.e. Reverse Osmosis, Ultra violet, Gravity based UF e.t.c
3   3)    Wall mountable, table top or under the counter fitted.
4   4)    Power source used.

While purchasing water purifiers, make sure that you put a lot of attention on the technology used for water purification. Water purifiers that use more than one purification technologies such as Kent’s mineral RO technology use a combination of RO + UV + UF + TDS control to deliver the cleanest water possible.

Water Purifiers contribute in the Quest for Pure Water

The extent of ongoing water contamination and pollution shows our perspective towards water. Pure water scarcity could potentially be enough to bring about a worldwide economic collapse all by itself, because no society can function without water.  Just try to live a single day without using any water some time. You will quickly realize how difficult it is.

It will not be long before your taps run dry and water bodies will be contaminated to such an extent that it will be rendered unfit for human consumption.

Many may put across the point that, Earth’s surface is covered with water. The information the follows below might break there bubble of comfort;

Approximately ninety-seven percent of the water on the earth is salt water. Filled with salt and other minerals this water is unfit for human consumption.

Approximately two percent of the water on earth is glacier ice at the North and South Poles. Only less than 1% of all the water on earth is fresh water that we can actually use. We use this small amount of water for drinking, transportation, heating and cooling, industries, and many other purposes. .

To add to these woes, a significant drop in quality of pure drinking water is already being noticed today due to the reasons mentioned above. It is time that we take matter in our own hands and initiate steps that will ease the next generation’s access to pure drinking water. Limiting our water use, water purification recycling water is a great way for water conservation and obtaining pure water.

Use of water purifiers is a major step in the bid to obtain pure water. Water purifiers can purify water which is contaminated and polluted to such an extent that they be health hazards. Water purifiers use the following technologies to purify water:

1)     Reverse Osmosis (RO)
2)     Ultra violet purification (UV)
3)     Gravity based UF

Water purifier manufacturing companies such as Kent use a combination of RO + UV + UF+ TRDs control for pure drinking water. Using water purifiers will help use water which could have been unused and wasted.

Beginners Guide to Air Ionizers

The process of Ionizing air involves oxygen content being given an electrical charge where it either has a negative charge due to the presence of one or more extra electrons per oxygen molecule, or a positive charge due to the presence of less than the normal number of electrons per molecule. Air purification systems that ionize the air, send a negative charge to oxygen molecules. This allows the molecules to act as an attractor for dust particles and pollutants in the air. This is very helpful if used as a cleanser for enclosed environments.

An example on how ionized air is effective is presented by nature itself, after a rain and lightning storm the sky often appears brighter and clearer after a storm has passed than is normal on a dry, sunny day. The lightning acts as a natural air ionizer to the air in the atmosphere.

But what are ions? Ions are oxygen atoms with a negative charge. They are created by sunlight entering the atmosphere, lightening, waterfalls, and plants. This technology is mostly used to purify air artificially. They purify the air because their negative charge causes them to bind with dust and pollution in the air so these particles fall to the ground.

Large amounts of Ions are present in our atmosphere naturally. But in cities where air pollution levels are high, ion levels drop significantly.  When you spend time in nature, lots of ions enter your blood stream via your breathing and your mood quickly improves.

Air ionizer in your home, car, and offices can significantly reduces exposure to air pollution making you more energized, alert and positive. Ionizers clean the air of dust, pollen, animal dander, cigarette smoke, and other pollutants. It is very helpful for people with respiratory disease, asthma, and cardiovascular disease, the elderly, children, and smokers.
These devices are best placed in the main living area such as the living room, bedroom or even washrooms.
