Know what’s TDS in Drinking Water?

A clear, tasteless and odourless liquid with extremely intrinsic light blue colour; is one of the major requirements and a necessity for the human race. Yes, we are talking about water. Over the years of our schooling, we all got to know the basic chemistry of water. Two molecules of hydrogen and one of oxygen comprise to form water. But is that it what is found in water? You’ll be surprised to know what more constituents come along in our drinking water, some essential and some harmful.

What seems to us as a clear liquid, in fact has in it totally dissolved solids (TDS). Well, as the name suggests TDS are the heavy metals and minerals that are completely dissolved in water at the molecular level. TDS water surely consists of the essential minerals that the water provide to a human body and most often are also polluted with heavy metals (zinc, mercury etc) and rust; mainly due to the pollution activities of human race.

While the process of water purification is carried out, one of the most difficult tasks is related to the RO water purifier, the raw water is first passed through the sediment filter to suppress the suspended impurities in water, followed by ultra filtration to reduce the bacteria and virus content in water. As the water passes through, it reaches the most important stage of the process; the RO purification, where the water is allowed to pass through a semi permeable membrane to separate the pure water and impurities. However, as the pure water is separated out it also is retained from the essential minerals in it; therefore, losing its complete TDS content. The next and the final step is to pass the water through a UV chamber to again reduce the bacteria, viruses and pathogens presence in water. So evidently, the whole process lags in only one sector i.e. the loss of the essential TDS.
TDS part of it. For better understanding, let’s go step by step through the process of water purification. The most effective and trusted process for purifying water is RO purification. In a

The need of a technology to control the elimination of TDS while the RO process was met by a leading brand in water purification, Kent! While they follow the RO+UV+UF technology, they have an additional TDS controller by which they can regulate the elimination of heavy metals and retention of the essential minerals. This advanced technology has enabled the customers to not only get pure and clean water but also much healthier water with minerals in it. Kent for sure has done a marvelous job in the field of purification with its portable water purifier as well as the electric one and stands right to its motto of ‘House of Purity’.
