How can you avoid water borne diseases?

Drinking water from a water purification system has become a norm. Parents are relying on water purification systems for clean drinking water. Hygiene is the ultimate gateway of being healthy. And purified water has made its place in our living. People are opting for contemporary methods rather than traditional purification systems.

Pollutants in drinking water can no longer be practically ignored. These harmful contaminants pollute drinking water and cause many diseases. Toddlers especially are severely affected by these diseases.

Good Health and well-being of kids and the elderly are some of the primary concerns of parents today. With the increase in the number of water-borne diseases, parents are relying on water purification systems for clean drinking water.

Where do the pollutants come from?

1) Due to heavy industrialization, harmful wastes by factories are often dumped either in the air or directly in water.
2) Water pipelines that distribute water are often rusted or leaking. When water comes in contact with such pipe-lines, they are contaminated.
3) Our over-reliance on the usage of pesticide, insecticide and fertilizers has led to water pollution. Harmful chemicals from pesticides seep through the soil and come in contact with the ground water.
4) Improper water storage by municipal bodies also leads to water contamination.

Impurities can be classified into two parts -

1) Suspended Impurities - Physical impurities which remain suspended in water such as dust, sand, dead insects and harmful micro-organisms like bacteria, viruses and cyst are termed as suspended impurities. They lead to discoloration of water and could also cause diseases.
2) Dissolved Impurities - These are the chemical impurities which get dissolved and mixed with water. They cannot be removed by simple filtration techniques and require advance technology for removal. Chemicals like, rust, pesticides, insecticides and salts of metals like arsenic, fluoride, iron, calcium etc. are included in these impurities.

Elimination of both these impurities using simple methods like boiling, cloth filtration and adding chlorine to water is not sufficient. Using advanced water purifiers, such as the ones that use a combination of RO+UV+UF+TDS control can be more helpful. Water purification devices like these not only remove impurities but also retain all-important minerals.

While purchasing a water filter, ensure that you pay attention to the below mentioned points:

1) The purification capacity.
2) The technology used i.e. Reverse Osmosis, Ultra Violet (UV), Gravity based UF etc.
3) Wall mountable, table top or under the counter fitted.
4) Power source used.

Water purification processes by such advanced technology are essential in preventing diseases caused by water. Kent, one of India’s top brands has facilitated and contributed in providing these advanced machines for the safe consumption of water for humans.

Combat rust and other impurities in water with water filters

Water is a universal solvent and an important life source. Not only do we need water for our industries but also for sustaining life. With depilating water reserves we have to conserve what little is left for us. That little amount of water is highly affected by impurities, as a result of natural pollutants and largely by our wrong doing. Our hunger for industrial advancement and growing population has greatly affected this major life source.

Natural impurities have been and are still polluting the water. This is happening at a balanced speed and can be dealt with. Sand is one of the most easily detectable impurities of nature and can be identified with colour. As common as it is, it also be eliminated with equal ease. Microorganisms and other bacteria also make water unfit for drinking. Since they can lead to fatal diseases and disorders, they can be extremely harmful for living beings. They can cause issues like diarrhoea and can further affect us internally. Boiling your water can eliminate these organisms to an extent, making water drinkable.

Industrial waste is the most alarming issue we face for water purification. We have increasingly dumped waste into our fresh water sources, not planning about its adverse effects. Water being a universal solvent, these pollutants easily mix with the water and are nearly impossible to remove without the proper technology. These toxins are one of the root causes for threatening disorders like cancer. Purifying this water to the most extent is possible, but its complex process is not easily achievable in homes. This is why people are in need of the best water filter possible.

Out of all of these pollutants, there is one that is dissolved in water during its journey from the water bodies to our homes. That one is rust. Rusted pipes and the water running through them bring us a lethal mixture of poisonous water. Iron from the pipe reacts with oxygen in the flowing water and creates this rust. The positive point is that it can be easily detected with colour, while the bad part is that it only changes colour if the rusting large. A pipe that has just started to rust does not change the colour water to an easily detectable level. This is where the threat actually lies.

Good water filters, like the ones made by Kent, contain the right technology to fight rust and provide fresh drinking water. Kent’s state of the art purification process eliminates minerals and other impurities easily. Known world over as the pioneer of RO technology, Kent’s Mineral RO purifiers also retain the essential minerals in the water that benefit us. Know to develop one of the best water filters; Kent RO purifiers and their revolutionary technology is the best available option against rust and other impurities in our drinking water.
